In the beginning, I was very worried about the semester, and whether I could handle taking a full load of classes. I am married, have a full-time job, have a son in his third year of college and twin daughters in 7th grade, am actively involved with my church, and work the gates for sports events. I wear myself out, just reflecting on it all! This has been one crazy, but unbelievably blessed year for me. I have been slowly, but surely, working towards entering the TA program at USM, and finally I have accomplished my goal! I still have some ways to go, but I will get there.
As for this class, I have learned so much. Before this class, I knew how to use Word and was adequate using Excel, but that is about it. Little did I know that I was about to learn so much more! There are so many ways to implement technology into the classroom, and I can carry this knowledge with me into to my own classroom someday. Rubrics, assessment, blogs, voice recording, videos, and websites; all useful Web tools that I can use within my classroom. My weak points in the class were working with a group. Taking mostly online classes, I have gotten so used to working alone. Technology is great in that it allows many to go to college from the comfort of their home, but the drawback is that you are isolated most of the time. Upon entering the TA program, I found out that there are so many ways we can communicate and work together, but it is up to our instructor to bridge the gap of communication. Dr. Wang did an excellent job with this. She forced us out of our comfort zones and made us work together. And I had a great, hard-working group to work with. I am thankful for that. I also had a hard time with the website and getting some of my projects to load onto my blogfolio. I believe my strong points were in working on my blogfolio; creating the rubric, assessment, and voice recording. Although I know I did not do a perfect job on my blogfolio, I had fun creating it. I believe the quiz and rubric were very handy tools that can be used over and over in the classroom. It was an easy Web tool to set up and could be used for weekly assessments. I also enjoyed the Vocaroo. How fun it was to create! One of my group members had the idea of using Vocaroo in substitute teaching plans, and I love this idea. I certainly think that is a great way to substitute yourself being there, when you cannot be in class. Again, the blogfolio did come with challenges, but could be most helpful in reaching out to students and parents. Many times, we can discuss something in class and go home and forget. A blogfolio would be a great way to reiterate what you taught in class, as well as give instructions on assignments. I did find Weebly a little hard to navigate, at times, but worth the effort. I wish my own children had teachers who utilized the provided technology! I had an overall great experience in this class, and owe Dr. Wang and her assistant many thanks for helping us through it all.

Key Strategies for integrating technology into physical education and health education: Ch. 1411/26/2017 Technology can enrich instruction in heath and physical education. It can provide strategies for assisting in the development of physical fitness, improving motor skill performance, supporting students' development of rhythmic movement skills, helping students assess and enhance personal development, helping students obtain valid health information, and supporting interdisciplinary instruction.
There are many ways to use technology for monitoring and improving your health. Smart watches, pedometers, and Fitbits help keep track of your heart rate, sleep patterns, and physical activities. Machines help keep you physically fit. Computers and smart televisions have programs that help keep you motivated and physically fit. Even game devices help keep people active (given the right game). Obviously, you must keep yourself motivated enough to perform the tasks, but technology does help motivate you! Teachers use technology to give students "brain breaks" and get them moving, helping them to stay active. There are websites that explain how the body works, giving students an interactive view of the body. This enables children to learn more about the body, while keeping them interested in what they are learning. Technology has opened the door for easier access to health and fitness, and it is up to us to utilize it. At first, I was dreading this assignment. Fear of the unknown, I guess. Now, I may not have succeeded in doing it correctly, but I sure hope so! Because of all that we have now learned in this class, I feel that the assignment was easier than expected. I was able to maneuver through Weebly with more success than I did with the Blog. However, I certainly wish there was an "undo" button, like there is in the Microsoft Office and Google Chrome programs. That would have made it a lot easier! There is one for the text, but not for all of the basic blog or website building. Other than that, this is a pretty user friendly site.
